From IT News Online, this article covers Intel and the Indian Department of Science and Technology have announced 3 winners of the Intel Innovation Pioneers Challenge, a business plan competition that challenges students, scientists, and engineer to show how they would improve the world through entrepreneurship and innovation.

This, as far as I can tell, was the first year of the competition. From the piece,

Rahul Bedi, Director, Corporate Affairs, South Asia, Intel, said, “We are partnering with a host of research institutions, entrepreneurship-fostering networks and industry associations to expand university curricula and build local innovation capabilities. Through this innovative business plan competition, which saw an overwhelming response in all categories, we aim to create a wave of entrepreneurs in India.

Cool contest and cool to see great companies integrating talented people from all over the world into the global network that now defines technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. BTW, the winners get an all expense paid trip to Berkeley, CA to participate in a plan contest there.
